Party report
On Saturday we held the party for Elias. In all 5 of his friends were invited and that was more than enough ;-)

These two girls are in the same group as Elias at nursery. The girl in red is Elias "best friend" at the moment. Every day when I pick him up they play together. It is very sweet.

Fishing for party bags was popular...

The party lasted two hours and Elias was pretty exhausted at the end. I guess it didn't really help that he woke up at 3.30 am in the morning. He had a 2 hour sleep mid day but still...

5 months
I can't believe how fast time is going. Elias is 3 years old and Alice 5 months already. It looks like she is getting close to turning over from back to front and she likes to sit up (supported). We started giving her a bit of solid food and it went pretty well, but after she started taking the antibiotics her stomach has bin a bit upset and she doesn't want anything but her milk.
3 years
On Friday morning we waited for Elias to finish singing and then we went in singing Happy Birthday. He wasn't quite as thrilled as I had hoped... After getting a muffin he cheered up though..

After breakfast he got some presents which he of course liked. While he was at nursery David (off sick form work) started building the car park we got for Elias.

I was a bit worried for a while but we actually managed to get it together. And he seems to love it!

Exhausted
Alice has had a bit of a cold lately but nothing too bad. She has had a bit of a chesty cough but that is sort of normal for her now so I haven't been too worried. Last night she was very tired in the evening and slept quite bad in the night. We checked her temperature in the night and it was 38.4 so no wonder she was a bit restless.
This morning she was very grumpy and it was a bit tricky to keep her happy and also tend to Elias getting ready for nursery (in the end he had an accident, totally my fault of course because I was so focused on Alice).
As the day progressed she seemed worse and worse. Didn't really want to eat much, didn't want to play and was mainly tired and grumpy. In the end we decided I should take her to the hospital and David pick up Elias (the nursery kindly let us pick him up later than normal).
The ER was very busy of course and it took 4.5 hrs before we were done. Luckily she was very easy going the whole time. Probably because she was quite off colour... They gave her paracetamol when we got in to take down her temperature (it was now 38.7) and later the doctor examined her and saw that she has an ear infection. She also got to inhale medicine twice to address the chesty cough.
Now we need to give her antibiotics for 10 days along with some medicines for her rattly chest. It's not so much fun being Alice at the moment...

I am the music man
When we were in Luleå at Easter I found an old harmonica I used to play with as a kid. Elias thinks it's loads of fun too.
(His comment: sounds like Pingu!)
A while back we had a parent "fika" at the nursery and the children also performed some songs. It was so sweet!

Bye bye tree
It's been a good weekend. Mainly nice sunny weather and we've gotten quite a lot done. On Saturday we cleaned the terrace and the outdoor furniture. We (David & Elias) also got rid of a tree outside our house that I've never been keen on. In the end we also got help from the neighbours on each side and now it is finally gone. Hooray!
On Saturday we also saw some friends for a few hours which was very nice. They are the tallest couple we know and their 2-year old boy was as tall as Elias!
Today Elias and I went to the forest and it was very nice. (Last week he was in a bit of a mood so it wasn't so much fun then). Afterwards my cousin Therese and Leonard popped round for lunch and a bit of play in the garden.

Highs and lows
On Sunday one of my fears happened. As I walked up the stairs from the basement with Alice in my arms I stumbled on a step (because my slipper is a bit broken) and dropped her!! I was almost at the top of the stairs and she landed on the stone hard hall floor (so she didn't fall down the stairs) on her back. I don't think I have ever felt worse or more worried. She screamed loads of course and shortly after fell asleep. She was due to have a sleep but I was worried to let her sleep after banging her head. We called the health care help line and asked what to do. They said it was ok to let her sleep but to make sure she reacted to tickles every 5-10 minutes, which she did. She slept for about 35 minutes and then woke up being her normal self again. The slippers have been thrown away!
So over to a more happy note. Yesterday as I was getting her dressed to go out I was cuddling her a bit and she laughed for the first time. She has been close to laughing before when we have tickled her on her neck (she seems to be just as ticklish as her brother) but this was definitely a proper laugh. Such a lovely sound!!!
