Camping

 A few weekends ago some parents from Elias' school arranged a family camping weekend. We set our tents up on a field belonging to someones house. It was an amazing location with a perfect view of the Long Man. We were very lucky with the weather and it was a really nice weekend.

 

 

 

A few Mondays ago

..we had a lovely afternoon. The kids were cykling along the beach, we then had dinner (pizza) on the beach, took the scenic route home and came across a bunch of people paragliding. I think we all really enjoyed it!

6 years (+1 month)

I thought I should post some pictures from Elias' brithday and his party. Better late than never huh!?

 

It was actually sunny on his birthday(!). He got a little pressie and a goodie for breakfast but we saved the rest of the presents until after school. Then the Hills came round for dinner and cake.

A few weeks ago before his birthday we went bowling after school and since then Elias was determined to have a bowling party. He had invited 6 friends and they had a game of bowling, food and cake. 2 hours of craziness and then it was over. Phew

Sister visit

Angelika and Felicia was here just before Elias' birthday and we had a few really great days together. Luckily they also brought the sun with them from Sweden..

On Saturday we walked to Berwick for a pub lunch. A quite long walk but the kids did great and we were all rewarded with a lovely lunch when we got there.  

On Sunday we went to Seven Sister's country park for a picknick with the Hills-family. It was sunny and low tide so the kids decided it would be a good idea to have a splash about..

On Friday Elias' wobbly tooth finally came out. Or not out actually since he accidentally swallowed it while eating an ice cream...

Alice seems to have realized that the weather can change quickly so it's best to be ready for anything!!

Not pretty

Yesterday Elias fell during a break at school and now he has a nasty nasty bruise on his cheek. His shin also got a bad knock so he's feeling quite miserable. I don't blame him, it looks awful!

Rainy day activities

We've baked some (experimental) cookies and when they've cooled off we'll tuck in! While waiting Alice drew a picture of her mummy. Don't I look pretty!?

Hallelujah

After 5 days of high temperature and no appetite it seems like our little girl is finally back to pretty normal. She is still covered in spots and has a bit of a temperature, but now at lunch is the first time she's eaten properly. She downed a bacon sarnie, had crisps, tea and some chocolate and chatted non stop meanwhile. Welcome back Alice!!

The blog is alive!

Hi again! After a few very hectic months we are now settled in (a bit) here in Alfriston so I will try to keep this blog updated a bit better. We have a separate blog for the shop if you want to see what's happening there: www.peppa-k.com

So, what's happened? Elias has started school

 And Alice has gotten chickenpox. She is completely covered in spots the poor thing and very miserable. She also refuses medicines which doesn't make things easier. Yesterday when the rest of us had dinner she had a nap sitting up in the sofa, bless her.

City visit

Today we went into town to check out the Christmas displays in NK's windows. The kids really liked them. The theme was Swedish children's stories. In the shop we also got to say hello to Father Christmas.

Elias told Father Christmas that he wants vampire teeth (which will be in his stocking so granddad Stig does NOT have to make him a set from orange peel!!) and Alice said she wants ice cream(!).

Happy advent 1st

 

Winter has arrived and yesterday we had beautiful weather. In the morning we went out with the bob and in the afternoon Therese and the children came around for some gingerbread baking and glögg drinking. All in all a great advent 1st if you ask me!

Big girl!

After trying unsuccessfully in the summer to get Alice out of nappies, she became very motivated when she came back to nursery and most of her friends had quit them. So for the last few weeks now we've hardly ever put nappy on her in the day. And last night she went to bed without nappy and didn't have an accident! We're so proud of her!!! Our little girl is getting big...

Forest Sunday

Yesterday the forest group started again. The concept has changed slightly (for the better I think) and it is now a family event.

We all met up at 9.30 in Lida. Then the big children went away with their leaders and the small ones stayed behind with their parents and the leader. With the little ones we looked for autumn colored leaves, played a few games and just had a nice time in the forest.

I had volonteered to make the fire so I left the little group and Alice and David behind at 11 and made the fire. At 11.30 the Mulle group (the big kids) came back and we all had lunch together. The session was over then, but the kids wanted to go and look at a space ship at the top of the hill so we all went there.  

Elias then wanted to pick some blueberries and we managed to get enough for one pie that we made when we came back (the rest are bought berries).  Unfortunatelly I undercooked them a bit, but they still tasted nice. As a bonus we made some cinnamon rolls as well. Yummy yummy in my tummy!

On Saturday I took Alice to the park while Elias was at the dancing with David...

Sunday

On Sunday the weather was very nice so we went to good old Lida (as did everybody else it seemed like).We grilled sausages and picked blueberries (a bit too late in the season really, but we found enough for making muffins).
